Pumpkin, pumpkin...

     We had a great pumpkin unit last week! We did so many great lessons and activites but unfortunately I didn't take hardly any pics!! I guess I was too busy teaching and anticipating Fall Break! 

We measured pumpkins, counted pumpkins, estimated with pumpkins, and started adding with our 10 frames!! We studied the life cycle of a pumpkin, did a close read with pumpkin poetry, and compared fiction and non- fiction pumpkin texts!! We also learned some fun new pumpkin songs, made super cute pumpkin shirts ( thsnks so much Aletha Thomas), and ended the week with a field trip to the pumpkin patch!! Not to mention made a super yummy pumpkin snack: Pumpkin Fluff!! Wow!! It makes me tired just writing about it!! Lol!! Hope your family had a great Fall Break!!

BATTY ABOUT BATS

It has been a BATTY week in K!!! Our bats unit was so fun and the kids learned so much!! Our unit had great fiction and non- fiction reads, we really focused on the "at" word family, introduced non-standard measurement, did a writing project, and even had a project due!!! WOW!! Not to mention Parent/Teacher Conferences!!
