Happy Hearts Day!

The day of love! Kindergarten was a blast today and it all started with happy little hearts!! We did all of our candy heart and V-Day lessons today! We started with sorting, counting, tallying, and ten framing our candy hearts ( great idea from Ms. Lee's Blog and TPT)! Next, we recorded our heart messages! The kiddos loved this! They thought it was so funny- especially, the hearts that said, "Marry Me"! Then, we measured cuspid's arrows to go with our math unit this week!
Of course, no V-Day is complete without the Show and Tell of the boxes. We had some super cute ones today! Followed with our party! Special thanks to my parents for sending in juices, cupcakes and helping clean up my room!

A little Pete and a little Phil

February is fabulous! Or at least it is in Kindergarten! There are so many great units to cover this month. We have started with Pete and Phil. Pete the Cat and Phil the Groundhog! We did a whole Pete unit but I only took a few snapshots of our project on the last day :/
Today it was all about the groundhog. We had a great Smartboard and National Geographic video all about groundhogs today. We also pulled up the Phil's forecast from Saturday! Then we had to make groundhog to eat and cook! Not to worry it was just sausage balls but I had the kids fooled for quite some time:)! Last, it was a small writing project.. Our recipe for groundhog balls! Learning and fun all in one day makes a happy teacher! (Some of the kids were a little grossed out by our groundhog.. Too funny!)
